Mr. Trick

Mr Trick is a vampire of some distinction and arrives in town with his boss, Kakistos, who has come looking to kill the slayer. That would be Faith the Vampire Slayer, as opposed to Buffy the vampire slayer.

When Faith finally finds a stake big enough to kill Kakistos, Mr Trick takes his revenge by helping to organise Slayerfest '99 in which he gathers vampires and demons of all kinds to take part in a slayer hunt. Of course, things don't go exactly to plan when they get Buffy and Cordelia instead of Buffy and Faith. After figuring out how they are being tracked, the two girls take out all the hunters, with the exception of Mr. Trick who is saved by the intervention of The Mayor, who he finds himself working for. He finally meets his match in Faith when he comes up agains the two slayers in the line of duty. He almost managed to kill Buffy before he is very surprised by a stake to the back.

Faith Lehane

Coming from a broken home with an alcoholic mother, Faith was messed up before the death of Kendra activated her slayer powers. Having fought and lost to Kakistos, seeing him kill her watcher, Faith runs to Sunnydale to find the all famous Buffy. Although she tries to fit in with Buffy and her firends, Faith cannot get away fron the pain in her short life and is a totally different kind of person and slayer to her counterpart. Things go further wrong when her new watcher, who she had come to trust, turns out to be a fake, and the real one a wuss. Still desperate for some kind of connection to the world, Faith makes out with Xander and takes his virginity, but their passion is short lived. The final straw for Faith comes when she mistakenly kills the Deputy Mayor, and although Buffy tries to reach out to her, Faith shrugs off what she has done and even tries to put the blame on Buffy

Angel, however, is the one person who knows where Faith is at, having taken many a human life and repented of it himself. He almost gets through to her when Wesley and the Watchers Council intervene and take her captive for themselves. She makes short work of them and finally finds someone she can trust and a father figure in The Mayor. Going to the dark side certainly suits Faith and she falls right into place, thinking nothing of betraying her old friends and doing the Mayor's dirty work. This includes trying to seduce Angel in order to turn him back to the dark side also, and, when that doesnt work, shooting him with a poisoned arrow, the only antidote to which is the blood of a slayer. This last act proves to be her biggest mistake, when Buffy comes after her and the ensuing fight leaves Faith with an almost fatal stab wound and in a coma for eight months.

When she awakes she finds that things have changed. The only person that she believes ever really cared for her is dead, however, he has left her a gift, a device which will enable her to switch bodies with Buffy. Having done so, she ensures that Buffy is safely out of the way and then gets on with Buffy's life. Living in Buffy's body she finds that the world is a different place, one where people feel genuine affection for her and where she is able to do good. Of course, Buffy manages to escape and find a way to reverse the switch. Beaten and confused, Faith leaves for L.A.

In L.A., she finds herself tracked down by Wolfram and Hart, who, hearing there is a slayer in town, think this is just the way to get rid of Angel. Faith accepts the job immediately and sets about luring Angel by kidnapping and torturing her old watcher, Wesley. She gets her fight but it soon turns into a death wish on her part, she begs Angel to kill her, believing herslef to be totally evil and beyond redemption, but Angel refused to fight her and just holds her instead. Despite what she has done, Angel offers her sanctuary and the chance to start her life over. But with Buffy, The Watchers Council, Wolfram and Hart and the police all after her, Faith decides it's time to pay for her crimes and turns herself in to the police.

Faith serves her sentence diligently, trying her best to keep out of trouble and atone for her crimes, but when Angel loses his soul again, Wesley busts her out of prison, knowing that she is the only person that can save Angel. Knowing that Angel is the only person ever to have had true faith in her, she sets about saving him, even going to the lengths of taking a lethal dose of the drug Orpheus in order to drug Angelus when he bites her. Back in a comatose state, Faith and Angelus share an hallucination where he takes her through his life as, finally good wins over evil and Faith wakes up in time to Angel from Connor.

With her duty done by Angel, Faith agrees to return to Sunnydale with Willow and help in the battle agains The First. Back in Sunnydale, she finally makes it up with Buffy and the rest of the gang, and, despite a few hiccoughs, and a liaison with the new Principal, Faith plays her part in Sunnydale's final battle and makes it through to the end.

The Mayor

An incredibly clean man with a total abhorration for all things germ-like, Richard Wilkins founded the town of Sunnydale 1n 1899 and became Mayor. In 1903 he married Edna May and, through magic and demonic worship managed to keep himself young (and Mayor) for the next 100 years, impersonating hiws own son and grandson, even though he allowed his wife to die. After 100 years it is time for The Mayor to ascend and to become pure demon. One thorn in his side is the slayer, that's Buffy the slayer, and he tries various methods to get rid of her, even getting the other slayer, Faith to help, but to no avail. Despite this, he continues with the rituals and preparations required for his ascension and, on Graduation Day at Sunnydale High he does indeed become a pure demon in the form of a giant snake. Unfortuanetly, Buffy and the whole of Sunnydale are ready for him and his ascension does not last long. Buffy leads him into a trap and blows him up, along with the School.

BACK TO HARRY GROENER | BACK TO BUFFY DEMONS | BACK TO TOP
Gwendolyn Post

Incredibly prim, proper and thoroughly British, Gwendolyn Post arrives in Sunnydale under the pretense of being Faith's new Watcher. Highly critical of Giles' performance, she informs them of the demon, Lagos who is searching for the Glove of Myhengon which is believed to be hidden on one of Sunnydale's many cemeteries. Bad things will ensue should the demon get his hands on said glove and the slayers are set to work finding it. Miss Post immediately forms a close bond with Faith, who defends her even when it becomes clear that she has an ulterior motive for finding the glove. After leaving a small trail of destruction in her wake, Ms Post finds the glove and dons it. With a little help from Angel, Buffy manages to remove the glove from Ms Post, taking her arm off with it, and the ex-watcher dies in a blaze of fire.

Two years later, Quentin returns to Sunnydale along with other members of the council with vital information about the latest evil to hit Sunnydale, the goddess Glory. However, they are not prepared to impart this information until Buffy passes yet another test, threatening the removal of Giles' green card if she does not comply with their wishes. But Buffy has had enough of the council and their tests and, after putting Mr. Travers down in no uncertain terms, demands that they restore Giles' postition at the council, with back pay.

Quentin and his cronies return to England and their headquarters. Unfortunately, this turns out to be not a very safe place to be. When the First Evil decides it wants rid of the Watcher's Council it has Caleb blow up the headquarters. Quentin does not survive the blast.

Kralik

Zachary Kralik was only ten years old when his mother took the scissors to him, leaving him with a serious problem with mothers which would last into his unlife. It is not clear when he became a vampire, but it is known that he had already tasted human flesh before this time. Somehow the psychotic vampire allowed himself to fall into the hands of the Watcher's Council who kept him locked up for six years and fed him pills to try and stabalise his condition which he became addicted to.

As Buffy reaches her eighteenth birthday, the council prepare for the Tento di Cruciamentun, a test for Slayers lucky enough to reach the age of eighteen. Buffy is stripped of her slayer powers and is sent to fight a vampire (Kralik) in 'controlled' circumstances. Unfortunately Kralik escapes the council's bonds and kidnaps Buffy's mother, luring her to his lair. Buffy follows and, in her weakened state, manages to trick Kralik into drinking a bottle of holy water resulting in his very timely demise.
